hansel and gretel

At Madeline's small, quiet job back in Vermont, she was the one who made sure there were donuts and coffee in the break room at all times. She never told anyone she did this and no one thanked her, but it was still one of the things she looked forward to.

She's the quiet co-worker who picks up everyone else's slack, the woman on the bus who keeps her hands in her lap and her head down no matter what happens, the tenant at the apartment building who pays her rent on time every month and strictly follows the rules of the building.

Then, of course, came the superflu, and none of that means jack anymore.

had the wrong idea

Madeline has stolen a restaurant, where she now resides, named Jackson's. It was a tiny, grungy dump of a place, but Madeline is working on making it just tiny. It's not far from Dante's, and even closer to the pawn shop, in what actually is a coincidence.

After Antinora, she was living in Dante's in the Hell Kitty room with Gabriel. She ran away once, but he and Mohinder brought her back, and now she and Gabriel have moved into an empty home in Hell.

you keep the breadcrumbs under your skin

Yeah, that's a baby rabbit

Yeah, that's a baby rabbit

Madeline knows about her power now, and not much has changed- she can still find any place she's been, now she just knows that normal people can't. There's the possibility for angst, there, but she's ignoring it because...really, what does it matter anymore?

where no one can find them

to steal

  • Gabriel Gray: He helped her bury her best friend, they ended up naked in her basement, and she brought him brownies and they talked about superpowers on Mother's Day. He has a disconcerting habit of coming into her personal space and almost whispering at her, which is really not fair, on the whole. They went through Antinora together, and are now so close it'd take a crowbar and a good day's work to pry them apart. He's the only living person (or the only living person she's sure is living) that she loves, even if she hasn't told him that just yet.
  • Pietro Maximoff: When the zombies tried to eat her, Pietro rescued her from their evil clutches, advised her on her bra size, and gave her his jacket. In Maddy, Pietro has found another endless supply of food, because clearly he lacks that.
  • John Locke: They had a conversation this one time. He was kind of charming, like a nice uncle.
  • John Smith: Gave Madeline a handkerchief which she has still not returned while trying to comfort her.
  • Adam Kaufman: Greeted her when she got to town and told her about the vamp-feral children. She thinks he's disturbingly tall, even while Gabriel somehow isn't. After his brains were scrambled he ended up helping her clean, and they talked about their younger (dead) siblings for awhile before she hugged him, which led to a whole cyclone of problems.
  • Mohinder Suresh: She's pretty sure he thinks she's a heartless bitch, and she may not be far wrong. She does like him, though, even if he also scares her a little with his temper. He's Gabriel's friend, so he's all right by her.

or eat

  • Wanda Maximoff: She was the second person to meet Madeline, and became fretful over her almost immediately. This was a very reasonable response on her part.
  • Doctor Sara Tancredi: After Madeline's unfortunate mangling and subsequent attempts to patch herself up, Dr. Tancredi was the one to save her from catching some pointless infection and dying. She also told Madeline she wouldn't scar much, which is probably wishful thinking.
  • Melissa Gold: The beloved town hooker, who Madeline brought home and fed one day, after discovering her breaking into a car and enjoying a hearty fest of incredible shyness.
  • Threnody: Given shelter from the ickle vampire children by Madeline one day - it was awkward, quiet, but ultimately satisfying, seeing as how her face was not eaten - even though she could've managed that all on her own.

and follow yourself home

Madeline is played by Liz, and is not associated with Son Ye-jin or Stephen King. Even if that would be kind of cool.
